Umbrella PAYE
As Agency/ Temporary Workers who are working multiple shifts across agencies Quest360 will act as your employer such that multiple timesheets can be processed under one employer. This makes tax calculations simple as we will deduct and remit them to the HMRC on your behalf which also provides flexibility to contractors seeking multiple engagements in their line of work.

CIS/Non-CIS Self Employed
The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) was established by the HMRC to cater for self-employed construction workers. This was followed by the Agency legislation in April 2014 which stipulates the importance of determining Supervision, Direction and Control for each placement for contractors. This legislative requirement has placed tighter restrictions for both Client and Contractor in determining whether for the purposes of the placement the contractor can be engaged as self-employed/sole trader or not.
CIS contractor tax is deductible at 20% (Standard Rate) provided their UTR number is registered with HMRC or 30% (Higher Rate) if verification with the HMRC has not been confirmed. All National Insurance Contributions (NIC) are paid directly by the contractor for the purposes of the placement.
Non-CIS Contractors are granted Gross Status UTR Number meaning all payments will be made at Gross and no tax deductions will be made. They will be required to submit a self-assessment form at the end of each Tax Year to determine the correct amount of tax to be remitted to the HMRC.
